A post on facebook leading to a lot of controversy about animal control in the town of Quispamsis.
It left many wondering why animals are being sent to the animal shelter in Moncton which has been referred to as a kill shelter instead of the local SPCA in Saint John.
Gary Losier is the Director of Engineering and Works with the town of Quispamsis and says they chose Moncton to deal with because Saint John has capacity problems
He adds out of the rougly 80 animals the town dealt with last year, only a handful were sent to Moncton to be euthanized, usually because the owner surrendered the animal or because of a court order.
