The snow is melting and dry conditions have developed across New Brunswick which has led to a province-wide burn ban.
The Department of Natural Resources says it wouldn’t take long for any fire to burn out of control right now.
Conditions can change quickly in the spring according to Provincial fire prevention officer Roger Collette.
He says the sun comes out, along with winds, that will dry out the fine grass and dead leaves, small twigs and branches, and that can help to spark a fire.
Collette says there are a few small fires around the province right now but none are considered too serious.
