Up to 40 new jobs are coming to St. Stephen.
Premier Brian Gallant on hand today in the St. Stephen Industrial Park to announce a $310,000 forgivable loan to Vilco Lmt, which manufactures fiberglass tanks for oil and aquaculture at Superior Tanks, as well as fiberglass canopy signs for gas stations.
Gallant says his government is focused on job creation. “It’s not for nothing, we want to create jobs so we can have opportunities for people in the province to come here, to stay here, to come back here, live here, work here, and play here.”
He says it’s also important to have export-driven industries doing well in our province. “We are the most export driven province in the country. So we have to have a very strong and solid plan when it comes to developing our export industries.”
Vilco is also the owner of Superior Tanks, which they purchased in 2011. They purchased a building across from Superior and plan to invest $750,000 in new manufacturing equipment.
Gallant says the investment is not just good for the local economy, but it is expected to increase the provincial GDP by approximately $2.1 million dollars annually at full ramp-up.
