Regulatory approval likely won’t happen until the fall but Casino New Brunswick is changing ownership from Sonco Gaming to B.C.-based Great Canadian Gaming Corporation at a pricetag of $95 million.
Great Canadian Gaming spokesperson Chuck Keeling says his company has been in business for 30 years and is looking at the sale as a great opportunity.
“We like to think that we bring experience but with that said, we are very impressed with the job that Sonco and the entire team have done in the roughly five years they have been in business.”
The casino’s roughly 400 employees will be offered continued employment with Great Canadian Gaming acording to Keeling.
Half of Casino New Brunswick’s gaming revenue will still go to the provincial government regardless of the sale.
