2014 was a record year for Saint John Airport with almost 249 thousand passengers, the most ever and passenger traffic for the first quarter of this year is up by 7 per cent.
The Vice-President of Airport Operations Angela McLean says one goal this year is to broaden air service and starting June 1st, Air Canada is adding a fourth daily flight to Toronto for the summer months.
McLean attributes the higher passenger numbers to Air Canada charing the same fares at airports in Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton and increased service with Sunwing during the winter.
The Airport had revenues of more than 6.6 million dollars for the year and wound up with a surplus of 613 thousand dollars.
