More than sixty groups across the country are asking the National Energy Board to close TransCanada’s Energy East application.
There seems to be a lot of confusion associated with the application process.
Matt Abbott is the Fundy Baykeeper with the Conservation Council of New Brunswick.
He says a lack of information on the application is just one reason why many groups are stepping in to see it stopped for the time being.
Abbott says there are too many unknowns for the application process to be rushed.
He adds the pipeline could affect popular industries such as tourism, lobster fishing and agriculture.
He says when the environment is at stake, time should not be a factor.
