Provincial NDP leader Dominic Cardy is calling the Gallant government’s choice to build a $12.6-million youth treatment centre in Campbellton a straight up political decision that’s ignoring the needs of a really vulnerable group of kids.
Cardy says it’s sad that we have a government that’s saying anyone who questions the decision is speaking against the northern region of the province and that we have to stop using public infrastruture like hospitals and health care centres as a way of buying votes.
The centre is going to be a 15-bed facility and will be built close to the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
