The parents who are fighting to keep the Browns Flat Elementary School open are not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
A rally was held to demonstrate the extent of public support and parent Phil Kennedy says they plan to make a direct approach to Education Minister Serge Rouselle who has the final say.
As for any legal action, Kennedy says that’s not being contemplated at the moment because they want to see the process through and have faith in it.
Kennedy says the recommendation from the District Education Council for closure should be rejected because proper procedures to determine the viability of a school were not followed. He dismisses it as a “rush job”.
