Fundy National Park is welcomed many visitors over the long weekend.
Camping, hiking and swimming in a saltwater pool are just a few of the activities for the whole family.
Fundy Park spokesperson Andrew Fry says a few extra perks have been added for backcountry hiking and camping enthusiasts.
He says, “We added firewood back into the back country, and we also added group back country sites, and we’re also adding mid country cabins.”
He says for those astronomy enthusiasts, “One of those things that people remark about is how much darker the night sky is, as compared to in the city, and how many more stars you can see.”
After a harsh winter, Fry admits crews had to spend time clearing away snow but recent warmer weather has melted most of it away.
As an added bonus, a number of special events and activities are also planned throughout the summer to coincide with the park’s 65th anniversary.
