A former high school teacher in Moncton is being sentenced today for several sex related charges.
43-year-old William MacGillivray was convicted in March of sexual exploitation, child luring and obstructing a police officer.
He appeared in Moncton court this morning.
The Crown is asking for five years in prison. The Defense is asking for 18 months.
The Judge adjourned his decision until 3pm today.
The 19-year-old victim was a former student of MacGillivray’s at Harrison Trimble High School.
MacGillivray has been in custody since his last court appearance.
MacGillivray was also expected to face a second sexual exploitation charge against another victim, and a second trial. A decision was made this week, that it will not go ahead, due to lack of evidence.
