A voluntary recall of potatoes by Loblaw’s and Strang’s Produce after reports of tampering.
The recall was triggered by an ongoing RCMP investigation into metal pins and nails being inserted into potatoes.
The affected products at the moment are the 50 pound bag of Strang’s Chef potatoes Jumbo for Chips, the 5, 10 and 15 pound bags of Russet Potatoes of Farmer’s Market brand.
Also included in the recall, the 5, 10 and 15 pound bags of Strang’s Produce Potatoes.
The recall covers New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island.
The Police and Canadian Food Inspection Agency ask if you find a metal object in your potatoes, keep everything related to the purchase and contact your local police.
