A new study shows potential economic opportunity in building a tidal energy industry in Canada.
Stephen Dempsey is the Executive Director of the Offshore Energy Research Association, he says it would basically work like a wind farm, only underwater.
Dempsey believes we’ll see commercial scale devices deployed in the Bay of Fundy as soon as this year.
He adds it might be a little expensive at first, but the study shows the market could be worth as much as a trillion dollars one day.
