There will be no celebratory cigarette smoking on your favourite summer patio on Canada Day this year.
Thanks to changes from the provincial government to the Smoke-Free Places Act including new restrictions that kick in on July 1st.
New restrictions on smoking outside will see the use of e-cigarettes and water pipes banned anywhere that traditional smoking is not allowed.
Other changes include no smoking within nine metres of doorways, windows and air vents of enclosed public places and indoor workplaces.
No smoking will be permitted on and near playgrounds and sports areas in an outdoor public place.
