Saint John Airport needs 50 million dollars in upgrades over the next few years for its long term sustainability.
The chair of the Airport Authority, Norm MacFarlane concedes that’s a lot of money to be looking for, much of it from government, but with a federal election looming, now is a good time to be asking.
MacFarlane admits they won’t be able to do everything that needs to be done all at once so the top priority is to refurbish the runways which has to be done by 2017.
