Under the Gallant Liberals, Service New Brunswick will take on a new expanded identity.
Provincial legislation will be introduced to create a new Crown corporation responsible for shared services including finance, information technology, and procurement.
It will be know as Service New Brunswick and will absorb the functions of Service New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Internal Services Agency, the Department of Government Services and FacilicorpNB while continuing to provide services to the public.
The government claims this consolidation could save up to $30 million by 2020.
The province expects to have this new corporation in place by the fall.
