A 57-year-old man is in the hospital’s trauma unit after a surely harrowing experience when his truck went down an embankment on Route 845 in Clifton Royal and he ended up stranded in a ditch which you couldn’t see from the road.
RCMP Corporal Gerald Bigger of the detachment in Grand Bay-Westfield tells us the man was last seen at about 12:30 early Thursday morning and they received a call Friday morning at 9am with someone reporting the crash.
Fire crews had to use the jaws of life to get the man out of the truck.
Cpl. Bigger says the last he heard the man was in stable condition.
