A woman was hit over the head with a hammer in the Waterloo Village after she and her roommate went to go check out a noise in the vacant apartment next door.
Sergeant Lori Magee of City Police say that led to an argument with the people inside which is when the assault with the hammer happened.
The woman was taken to hospital but her injuries aren’t considered life-threatening. A 27-year-old man was arrested outside the residence on Peters Street.
Police are investigating.
