The new National Basketball League of Canada Commissioner Dave Magley meeting with the public of Saint John to discuss the state of the league.
Magley tells CHSJ News his experience both playing and coaching basketball will help him in his new role.
Magley says last years championship game which saw the Halifax Rainmen walk away from game 7 of the finals was the straw that broke the camel’s back, in terms of a wake up call for the league.
He added the event wouldn’t have escalated the way it did, if he were commissioner at the time.
Magley hopes to expand the league to potential locations including parts of Ontario, Montreal, Cape Breton and possibly out west.
Mill Rats Head Coach Rob Spon says he looks forward to seeing Dave Magley turn the league around.
