In the National League, the Western Division leading Los Angeles Dodgers beat Arizona 9-3. The Central Division leading St. Louis Cardinals lost to Colorado 11-3 and outfielder Matt Holliday had to leave the game after falling awkwardly in the outfield.
Saint John High won the high school “AAA” rugby championship, 34-9 over St. Malachy’s.
In the Women’s World Cup, it was the U.S. over Australia 3-1…..Sweden and Nigeria tied 3-3….It was Cameroon over Ecuador 6-0 and Japan blanked Switzerland 1-0.
