Fabricators are already bidding for contracts even though the barge terminal in Lorneville won’t be finished for another 6 to 12 months.
Brian Irving, General Manager of Saint John Industrial Parks, says there’s also interest in building on the 25 to 30 acres of land adjacent to the barge terminal.
Irving says getting the barge terminal was the big priority last year while 2015 will be the year of execution with building up inventory of land.
He adds the barge terminal will well position Saint John to be a servicing centre for tidal power with the turbines being so large.
