An online petition with 92 thousand names is the basis of a private member’s bill in Parliament that would toughen the penalties for drunk driving.
Sue Dale is hoping it will be passed since her best friend was killed by a drunk driver on the Airport Arterial in March of 2011. He was going ythe wrong weay and slammed into her car head on.
Sheila Bayers died after being struck head on. Dale has never gotten over the death of the woman she calls her rock, saying you just exist from minute to minute or second to second.
She also doesn’t believe justice was served in the death of her friend with the sentence that was handed out.
Dale points out 4 people are killed and 175 others injured by drunk drivers in this country every day.
