The parents who were fighting to keep Browns Flat Elementary School, outside Saint John, open say they are planning to take the provincial government to court.
Parent Phil Kennedy claims the deck was stacked against them from the getgo and Education Minister Serge Rouselle ignored the evidence that was presented to him that was in favour of keeping the school open.
The parents have former Education Minister Kelly Lamrock as their lawyer and Kennedy tells us they have a rock solid case.
The parents say proper procedures were not followed but that is being disputed by Rob Fowler who chairs the District Education Council in Anglophone South.
Kennedy is calling the Gallant Government anti-democratic and warns small schools in rural areas are all under threat.
