A huge number of viewers have watched and shared a video on the New Brunswick RCMP’s YouTube channel which is seeking help to find victims in an extensive child exploitation case.
Investigators say a 24-year-old Moncton man allegedly lured boys online by pretending to be a teenaged girl and there could be as many as 2000 victims in Canada, the United States, Europe and beyond.
Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh says the RCMP are continuing to investigate and the video has been shared through social media hundreds of thousands of times around the world.
The accused has been charged with several sex offences but his name cannot be released under a court-ordered ban.
Mounties say some of the victims could be as young as 10 years old.
He’ll return to court in November.
