The Auditor-General’s report on Senate expenses is renewing the debate over whether the Senate should be abolished.

New Brunswick Senator Joe Day of Hampton warns a small province like New Brunswick would become less relevant if we just had the House of Commons. He argues in the House of Comons, New Brunswick has just 10 M-P’s compared to 138 from Ontario whereas in the Senate, New Brunswick has 10 Senators while Ontario has 24.
Both Ontario and Quebec have said they will oppose abolition of the Senate.
