A nine-hour armed standoff in Beaver Dam, which is outside of Fredericton, ending peacefully with a 37-year-old man from the area being arrested.
RCMP say negotiators were brought in after the man, who had a firearm, refused to come out of his home. The man’s child was also in the home at the time. Eventually, the man left the home and was taken into custody.
The child was not hurt.
Nearby houses were evacuated as a safety precaution.
