A recent Corporate Research Associates poll, which shows a striking spike in popularity for the provincial NDP, has given a lot of encouragement to party activists and is incentive for the party to “get out there and work even harder.”
That’s according to provincial NDP leader Dominic Cardy who tells us it’s really good to see no matter what the small details are, that the overall picture is pretty clear: that when people look for an alternative to the Liberals they’re looking to the NDP rather than any of the other parties.
Cardy says the party’s popularity has been as low as nine-percent and as high as 27-percent over the last few years. He tells us the numbers should not take away from the core work which is getting out there and doing the organizing.
According to the poll, support for the provincial NDP is up from 9-percent to 23-percent. Meantime, support for the provincial Liberals is at 38-percent which is down from 54-percent in February.
