How to make getting around Saint John easier is what the city would like to find out from you with two Open Houses. The first one was held on the west side last night.
Tim O’Reilly is the Manager of Pedestrian and Traffic Services for the city and says the longterm plan for Simms Corner is to install traffic lights so drivers coming off the Reversing Falls bridge going westbound would be able to go straight through to Fairville Boulevard.
O’Reilly says a roundabout is not being considered for a couple of reasons. One is the presence of the railway tracks and there’s a question whether enough land would be available for a two lane roundabout.
Another Open House on Transportation is being held at the Peel Plaza Police Station from 4:30 this afternoon to 7:00 tonight.
