The Gallant government announced a new program to help Seniors stay in their homes longer called the Seniors Navigator initiative.
It is a two phase program starting with a voluntary review by trained workers of the health, personal wellness, social support, home safety and caregiver support of seniors aged 70 to 75.
Up to 1,500 in funding will be available to seniors for minor, safety related home repairs.
6,400 seniors are expected to take part in Phase 1.
Meanwhile, seniors who need more help navigating the health and long term care program will qualify for a dedicated Seniors Navigator who will give them one on one assistance.
This initiative is part of the 3-year Home First Strategy from the Gallant Government.
