Pending a final decision by the Board of Directors, the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute in Moncton cancelled testing new samples in light of the decision to allow the Regional Hospital to receive genetic sequencing equipment.
Dr. Rodney Ouellette doesn’t believe there’s a need in New Brunswick for two labs but the Chief of Staff at the Regional Hospital, Dr. John Dornan says demand can be increased by growing the pie. He believes the Regional Hospital can help the Cancer Research Institute do that.
Dr. Dornan claims Saint John and Moncton can be complement one another by doing different testing in each location.
