A provincial court judge has spared the life of a three-year-old pit bull named Torque from French Village after an incident with a child at the beginning of last month.
The ruling coming from judge Marco Cloutier who says that, in his view, while the dog did not bite the young girl, it did attack her, scratching the child’s face.
The incident happened at Angie Tracey’s home on May 1st and involved her dog Torque, being hand-fed pizza crusts. Cloutier says that this was an attack done in the process of hand-feeding a dog and while it was a deliberate attack by Torque, it was not what he would call a vicious attack.
After the decision was delivered, Tracey telling us that she is “beyond emotional” and that she can’t wait to get her boy and bring him home. She says the last 48 days have been hell and that her house has been turned upside down by this.
Tracey received a list of conditions to keep Torque under control including that he be neutered, that Tracey will not allow anyone under the age of 16 to hand-feed Torque, and that at all times when off the owner’s property Torque must be muzzled.
She says they have already complied with most of the conditions, and that the only thing left to do is get Torque neutered however she tells us they are now in the process of getting that done.
