The Emera New Brunswick Field at Shamrock Park gets its first workout tonight when first responders play football in honour of colleague.
The Don Cooper Memorial Cup will be played tonight between a team of firefighters playing against a team of police officers and paramedics.
Cooper passed away in February.
Constable Don Shannon tells CHSJ News celebrating Don Cooper is important to him.
He tells when he became a police officer he worked on his shift and coached with him adding Coop coached football for 43 years at Shamrock Park.
The Cooper family will be an hand and Deputy Police Chief Glen McCloskey (Muh-cluss-key) and Fire Chief Kevin will be on hand for an official coin toss.
The Don Cooper Memorial Cup starts at 7pm tonight at Shamrock park.
