It’s now expected the Fundy Rose will be replacing the Princess of Acadia in the Bay of Fundy by the end of next month but concern is being expressed about whether the new ferry is too small.
The chair of the Bay of Fundy Marine Transportation Association, Norman Lockyer says the new ferry can carry 14 trucks as opposed to 22 on the Princes of Acadia.
Lockyer says the truckers taking seafood to Boston want the afternoon crossing so they can be in Boston the next morning but there may not be enough rom for all of them.
He says one possible solution that has been mentioned is having more runs.
