New Brunswick NDP leader Dominic Cardy says the government should do a better job to ensure second-language training courses thrive in the province.
Cardy tells CHSJ News language duality is here to stay in New Brunswick.
Cardy says the language training cuts at NBCC Miramichi is a step in the wrong direction, but understands it was cut due to low interest.
He says the courses should be more affordable and offered at more locations to avoid anyone feeling excluded when applying for jobs.
Cardy adds providing more opportunites for Anglophone New Brunswickers to learn French would do much to improve the linguistic harmony in the province.
