A new program offers communities across the country to receive funding for projects that restore community facilities.
In celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, the Federal Government has announced the Canada 150 Infrastructure Program.
The government will attribute 50 cents of every dollar spent, if the project application is approved.
Quispamsis Mayor Murray Driscoll hopes to apply for funding to put a new park and resting area on Pettingill Road.
Quispamsis town council split on whether or not to apply for the funding and Mayor Driscoll broke the tie with a vote in favour.
If the application is approved ,Driscoll hopes the park will be ready by Canada Day next year.
