With new smoking laws that went into effect in the province yesterday, one of the questions on the minds of many is, how do we enforce it?
Director of Health Promotion at the New Brunswick Lung Association Barbara Walls says the public needs to be willing to lodge a complaint.
She says, as a responsible adult, if we see people smoking where they shouldn’t be, we should be the first line of defense and speak to them about it.
Walls say if someone is smoking at or near a business, then you should report it to a Manager.
New smoke free laws went into effect in New Brunswick yesterday that ban smoking and vaping in public places, including on or near outdoor patios, playgrounds, sports fields, walking trails or building entrances and exits.
