74% of Canadians say they worry about outliving their retirement funds.
That’s according to a new poll from Angus Reid.
That’s in sharp contrast to only 48% of those currently retired or semi retired who share the same concerns.
Other interesting results show almost half of retirees were forced to retire early due to circumstances out of their control, and 27% of those say they struggle to make ends meet.
Public sector pensions played the biggest role in determing who was struggling and who was not, with three quarters of government retirees saying they collected a pension as opposed to only 39% from the private sector.
Private sector retirees were more than twice as likely to report struggling financially.
