A year ago today, Charlotte County was a vastly different picture as Hurricane Arthur released its fury.
Today is the one year anniversary of a storm none of us wish to re-live anytime soon.
On July 5th, 2014, St. Stephen received 143 mms of rain, with winds of up to 110 kms per hour in a 24 hour period.
The hurricane was so strong, it destroyed homes and property, damaged power lines, flooded streets, and ripped up full grown trees by their roots. Police even sent out a warning to residents to be careful of falling and moving debris.
Province-wide, over 140,000 people were left without power.
It took a full two weeks following the storm for all of Charlotte County to get back on the grid. Full power was not reported until July 18th, 2014.
