There’s still no concrete date for when the Fundy Rose will start plying the waters between Saint John and Digby, however, Vice-President of Operations and Safety with Bay Ferries, Don Cormier, says everyone is working hard to get the ferry up and running by this summer.
He tells us Transport Canada and Public Works have gone through an extensive process in getting the ship ready and preparations are still ongoing. Work on the ship has been going on for about six months in Halifax.
Cormier says they would expect to have probably a week’s notice before the vessel is put into service.
The Fundy Rose ferry is the replacement for the Princess of Acadia.
