Bay Ferries plans on adding extra sailings to make up for the fact that the new Saint John to Digby Ferry, the Fundy Rose, is smaller than the Princess of Acadia.
That from Vice President of Operations and Safety Management with Bay Ferries Don Cormier who tells us there’s lobster exports in December and they’ve traditionally only operated one trip a day during that month, however, this year they’ll will be doing a lot of days where there will be two trips daily.
Concern has been expressed over the ferry’s truck capacity.
The new ferry, the Fundy Rose, can carry 14 trucks while the Princess of Acadia could carry 22.
