The Gallant government says its taking its time and reviewing a funding request from the Port to support its modernization project.
Victor Boudreau is the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation and in a statement he describes the Port of Saint John as an important player in the world of exporting New Brunswick goods to market.
Boudreau says the announcement by the Federal government is good news but points out the funding is conditional on the project meeting federal eligibility requirements under the fund and the Port securing all the funding.
