A man found not criminally responsible for killing a Minto couple will remain at the Shepody Healing Centre in the Dorchester Penitentiary for at least the next six months.
A New Brunswick review board made that ruling for Gregory Depres at the Moncton Courthouse today.
Despres was found not criminally responsible for killing his Minto neighbours Fred Fulton and Verna Decarie in 2005 after a judge ruled he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.
Since then, Depres has been housed at the Shepody Healing Centre and his last review was in May 2013.
That facility is scheduled to close next spring and it’s possible Despres will be transferred to a provincial facility at that time.
Another review board hearing in six to eight months will make that determination.
