You can pay special tribute to a veteran in your life by sponsoring a banner as part of a newly-launched project by the Royal Canadian Legion Lancaster Branch 69 called Honour Our Veterans.
Branch president Larry Lynch tells us the banners cost $225 each and includes the poles the banners will hang on and the work of putting the graphics onto the banner.
The banner will include a Canadian flag, the Union Jack, a photo of the veteran, a poppies, how they served, and who sponsored the banner.
The 30 banners will start at O’Brien Street and travel down Manawagonish to Main St. West and on to Simms Corner and will be up from early October until November 12.
