The provincial government is giving a helping hand to those of us with private wells affected by recent flooding in the form of free bacterial testing for wellwater.
If that sounds like something you’d like to get you first have to register damages with Service New Brunswick and give a property identification number which you can find on a property tax bill. The sampling kits can be picked up at your closest Service NB centre and at regional offices of the Department of Environment and Local Government.
The samples will be sent to the provincial lab in Fredericton to be tested and then the results will be released to you.
The province reminding New Brunswickers that you have to wait 10 days after floodwaters have receded before starting any chlorination and sampling process.
