Canadian soldiers will be honoured this Friday night at Harbour Station when the Sea Dogs hold their annual “Support Our Troops” Night. The Sea Dogs are playing the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies that night.
“Support Our Troops” is held annually by the Sea Dogs to recognize all members of Canadian Forces, past and present and thank them for their service. The team has scheduled pregame ceremonies and is offering special ticket prices for military personnel attending Friday’s game.
Art Pottle, a veteran of the Second World War who received the French Legion of Honour for his service in liberating France during the Second World War, will take part in the ceremonial puck drop. Earlier this year, Pottle went to Washington, DC, with the 1st Special Service Force to receive a Congressional Gold Medal, an award bestowed by the U.S. Congress.
