A happy ending to the story about Herbie the turkey.
Herbie was found wandering on Main Street last week, and he was picked up by the Greater Moncton SPCA. He now has a new home in Angela’s care. She was his foster mom while they waited to see if his owner would come forward.
Executive Director Karen Nelson says Herbie is now safe from ever becoming part of Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner.
She says Angela is going to get Herbie a girlfriend, to keep him company.
It turns out, Herbie did have another Owner. He did come forward, but said, it was okay, Angela could keep him.
Herbie will have some time to get used to his new name, he was previously known as Norman.
