A two-year battle by postal workers to stop Canada Post from getting rid of door-to-door mail delivery has been successful.
Details are still scarce but the Crown Corporation is reversing its decision to move to community mailboxes.
Line Doucet, a Moncton spokesperson for the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, says her members found out through the media.
“Hopefully from now on, we will be lobbying some politicians, the Liberals, to do good on their campaign promise and to expand services at Canada Post,” she notes.
Doucet feels it will be important to get feedback about the future of Canada Post from Canadians themselves who own the service.
