Sobeys and well known Chef Jamie Oliver have teamed up to support local growers and producers in Atlantic Canada.
Belliveau Orchards in Memramcook was the only New Brunswick business invited to take part in a special event held in Nova Scotia yesterday.
Nine vendors featured food displays and Oliver also put on a cooking display.
Owner Robert Bourgeois says the push is on to buy local and to do more cooking at home, instead of buying processed products.
Bourgeois says all locally grown food can be used to help New Brunswickers eat better. It just takes a little bit of imagination and creativity in your preparation.
Sobeys is encouraging everyone to eat better and to buy local wherever possible.
