The remnants of Hurricane Patricia causing widespread power outages in southern New Brunswick.
As of early this morning, there were 35 hundred homes and businesses still without electricity around the province with more than 31 hundred of them in the Rothesay district which includes Grand Bay-Westfield and the Kingston Peninsula. NB Power estimates some people may be in the dark until 7:00 tonight.
The Anglophone South School District reports Kennebecasis Valley High, Quispamsis Elementary and Macdonald Consolidated will not be opening today due to the power outages.

At the height of the storm yesterday afternoon at high tide, water spilled into the volleyball courts at Market Square.
Both the Causeway and Red Head Road at the breakwater had to be closed because of water lapping over onto the roadways.
Chipman Hill was also blocked off because of fears someone might get hurt by the scaffolding that was blowing around.
