After the the harsh winter we had, there was a lot of talk about changing how storm days are handled in the province.
A Storm Days Committee reviewed all the options, which included changing the school calendar to move professional development days to the fall and spring of the school year.
In the end, Education Minister Serge Rouselle decided there would be no change this school year. The Education critic for the Conservatives, Gary Crossman wonders who served on the committee and whether there was any engagement with teachers, parents or, for that matter, students.
Crossman says, in the past, the snow plows were scheduled around the school day and this seemed to work out pretty well for all concerned.
A big worry for many parents on a storm day is finding child care on short notice.
