A presentation given to Quispamsis town council on the state of sport fields in the area and recommendations on moving forward.
Councillor Kirk Miller isn’t completely sold on the idea of the proposed site for a cluster of sports fields on Hampton Road, near Sleepy Hollow.
Miller questions whether or not the piece of land is good enough for two or three fields.
The proposed location on Hampton Road would also have other site amenities including washrooms, a canteen and parking for up to 90 vehicles.
The five year strategic plan given to the town by Viridis Urban Planning & Design will cost approximately $1.5 million dollars over five years.
The first year will involve building a recreation master plan, a youth first priority, addressing maintenance issues and installing lights to the baseball field at Meenan’s Cove.
The Department of Recreational Services will present the town with a budget before moving forward.
